The second half of the autumn term has certainly been a busy one, with lots of successes. Earlier this month we had our Ofsted Inspection. We are very pleased with the positive outcomes from the inspection, which have now been published and I’ve included a copy of the report on the website. The Academy is heading in the right direction and rapid improvements are evident. The successes we have had this term would not have happened without the leadership, enthusiasm and perseverance demonstrated by staff and students and I am immensely proud of this. Standards at the Academy are high, as we wish for all our students to thrive and succeed beyond potential. We can only do this with high expectations.
Earlier this week I was pleased to learn that Ebony Colbourne in year 9 came first in her DMT competition. This is an excellent achievement of which Ebony can be really proud. Well done indeed!
Our last day has been a festive one. We started with our carol service in the morning and finished with Christmas dinner for all. This was a brilliant event and the snow machine, thanks to Miss Mills and DJ and music, thanks to Mr Flack really added a Christmas feel. I hope all students enjoyed it as much as I did.
Do have a restful break and I look forward to welcoming all students back on the 7th January. Please see my end of term letter on the website for more details of some small changes taking effect after Christmas.
My best wishes and Merry Christmas,
