Half way through the year and Calum Davenport

With only two weeks until half term it means we have almost reached the middle of the academic year.  This mid point has given me time to reflect on all that has happened since September and how much the school has improved.   Our recent round of student voice with the students allowed them to talk about what they felt had changed the most at the academy, compared to last year.  Quotes that were really pleasing to hear were ‘we don’t have supply teachers anymore’, ‘we really enjoy doing history – Mr Cane makes it so much fun’, ‘it just feels so much better’ among other quotes.  This would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our brilliant staff, who devote their time for students.

At the beginning of the week we had another PSHE day and were lucky to have ex-Spurs player Calum Davenport in to share his inspirational story with students.  Calum spent the day with us and students commented how interesting they found his story.

As the week draws to a close, we appear to have missed the most of the snow.  Should further bad weather come along, please keep an eye on our website for notices about school closure.

Best wishes,
