It is hard to believe we are already in May, with only two months left until the end of the year. Already, Year 11s and 13s have begun their examinations and are looking ahead to their futures after All Saints. Earlier this week staff spent time thinking about the vision for the Academy over the next 5 years and we will be publishing this soon. Now that many changes have occurred and improvements have been made, we are in a position to think about what would most benefit students who come to All Saints and how we can bring this vision into becoming a reality in the forthcoming years.
After much planning, we are now proceeding with the move to a House system and Vertical Tutoring structure across the Academy after half term.
We have agreed on 4 houses, which will be named after famous people who lived and worked in Plymouth. They are:
Drake House – Named after Sir Francis Drake, the famous sailor and explorer, based in Plymouth.
Weston House – Named after Dame Agnes Weston, a charity worker who devoted her life to helping sailors in the Royal Navy. Much of her work took place in Devonport.
Scott House – Named after the famous explorer and Royal Navy officer, Captain Robert Scott born in Plymouth.
Astor House – Named after Nancy Astor, the first female MP to take her seat in the House of Commons. She represented the Plymouth Sutton constituency.
This is a very exciting time for All Saints and future developments within the House system.
Until next week.
