Our Senior Leadership, staff and governing body have a sharp focus on student outcomes and a programme of continual improvement.
They work closely together as a team to ensure all lessons challenge pupils and deliver pace and rigour and will positively impact children’s learning and progress. An external task force also works alongside the team to ensure accountability and provide professional support. It includes representatives of the Diocese of Exeter, Plymouth Teaching School Alliance, and the Ted Wragg Educational Trust.
As School Governors, we want to make a positive contribution to children’s education. Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. School Governors provide strategic leadership and accountability in schools. They appoint the head teacher and deputy head teacher and hold the main responsibility for finance in schools. Governors work with the Headteacher to make decisions and balance resources. Each individual Governor is a part of the Governing Board. They do not act independently of the rest of the Governing Body, as decisions are the joint responsibility of the Governing Board. Governors set the aims and objectives for the school. They monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making towards the achievement of its aims and objectives. The Headteacher is responsible for the internal organisation, management and control of the school and the implementation of the strategic framework established by the Governing Body.
