I have been involved with All Saints Academy since the initial planning began to create Plymouth’s first Church of England secondary academy. As a former Chair of the Education Committee and now as the Chair of Governors, I have seen the academy grow from strength to strength and I look forward to seeing it develop as its educational and Christian reputation becomes more established across Plymouth.

I am delighted to be pro-actively involved in All Saints Academy where the importance of education as well as an appreciation of Christian ethos is recognised as being critical factors in making a significant difference to young peoples’ lives and their future careers.

I am a Senior Education Adviser for Plymouth City Council as well as being a trained school inspector. I have worked in education for over 25 years and have held senior leadership positions in two large secondary schools. I now advise more than 20 schools in the city and oversee the development of newly qualified teachers across Plymouth.

My main interests in education are raising standards, developing the curriculum and continuing professional development for staff within schools.

Being a governor at All Saints gives me the opportunity to support the school in these areas. I am Vice-Chair of the Governing Body as well as serving as Chair of both the Education and Personnel and Staff Development Committees.

As Archdeacon of Plymouth it's a great privilege to serve on the governing body of All Saints Academy.

My responsibilities in the diocese include me having an overview of the life of the church across the city of Plymouth and in the deaneries of Tavistock and Ivybridge. I have also served as a governor of the University of St Mark & St John.

Before training for the priesthood I read Theology at Kings College London.

I have three children and first became a governor when my eldest son started at primary school as I wanted to make sure that they had a good education. That was 18 years ago and only my daughter is still in education.

One of my sons went on to university and the other has special needs. As such I am highly aware of the range of needs our academy has and am fully committed to supporting our students to succeed.

I am passionate about education and believe that every young person, no matter what their ability, has the right to a balanced education.

I serve on the Education and Personnel and Staff Development Committees.

After studying English and Drama in Manchester, I embarked on a marketing career in theatre before making a conscious decision to re-train and teach so I could share my love of English and Drama.

I am proud to be the Headteacher at All Saint’s Academy.

I am a practicing Christian with a passion for education, a belief in inclusion and a purpose founded on the gospel values that underpin our church school. My vision for the school is based around the 4Fs: Faith, Family, Foundations and Futures. I am passionate about teaching and learning and the difference they make, and look forward to providing the absolute best for everyone connected with All Saints Academy.

I am married with two children and a keen amateur photographer.

Alison Keyworth

I currently work as a Senior Lecturer of Postgraduate & Professional Development at the University of St Mark & St John where my role involves tutoring and lecturing on the MA Education, PGCE and School Direct Modern Foreign Languages and Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring programmes. My previous career was as a Head of Modern Foreign Languages in a national challenge secondary school. I was invited on to the Governing Body to represent the University and sit on the Academy’s Education Committee.

I have a genuine passion for education and for ensuring that all students, regardless of their age, background and ability, are given the opportunities to realise their potential and are encouraged to have aspirations of being the ‘best’ they can be.

I enjoy working with fellow educators and providing them with training/study opportunities, so that they can grow and develop their knowledge, skills and expertise in order to provide our young people with the very best learning experiences.

I have worked in financial services for over 17 years with Barclays Bank in a number of roles. I moved to Plymouth in 1997 and am passionate about the city. My husband and I married in 1998 and have two children, Katie aged 14 and Jamie aged 9. I have been involved with their primary school PTA for many years but always knew that I would want to continue to have an involvement in education more widely in the community. I was delighted to have been asked to join All Saints Academy’s board of governors this year.
