Plymouth Argyle, Geography Field Trip and CoachBright

29.3.19

As we approach the final week of term, there has been much going on at the Academy.  Year 11s have been out on the geography field trip and have been impeccably behaved. Feedback from staff said that our students were fantastic and were complimented by a member of public.  They were a real credit to the school.

Earlier in the week we welcomed the Plymouth Argyle youth football team to the academy to talk to our students about their futures. This was a great opportunity to start building links with the club.

CoachBright has also been continuing with our Year 11s and they are fast approaching their final session.  It was lovely hearing feedback from the team and our students. Jack’s Coach said “It was extremely gratifying to see Jack pick up on themes by himself, and engage with the text in a truly profound way. Jack is very obviously capable, and it was very rewarding to see him developing new skills and honing existing ones today.” Millie’s Coach said “Millie always tries her hardest to be engaged with the lesson. She contributes so well to the conversation. Such a fab young lady. ”

Some other comments we received from our pupils at the end of their session included: “Best lesson I’ve had so far”, “I learnt a a lot of new things and it was really helpful” and “It was really fun”; we also get feedback scores out of 7 each week from the kids and this week we got a 6.6/7 average which is fantastic!” Thank you to the coaches and the CoachBright team for visiting us this year.

Until next week,
