The All Saints Academy Plymouth (ASAP) Pledges are central to our Personal Development provision and reflect our commitment to equity, aspiration and opportunity for all students. Shaped by our local context in Honicknowle, the pledges ensure that every young person, regardless of background or circumstance, can access meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.

The pledges are open to all students across the academy. While participation is optional, involvement is strongly encouraged to ensure students develop essential personal, social and life skills. The experiences offered are designed to broaden horizons, build character and support positive life outcomes.

The ASAP Pledges include opportunities such as learning to swim or ride a bike, developing financial literacy, taking on leadership roles, engaging in cultural and sporting activities, contributing to the community, and preparing for future education, employment or training. Each element promotes resilience, confidence, independence and ambition, in line with the Ofsted Personal Development framework.

Students actively engage in their own development by tracking progress, reflecting on new skills and celebrating achievements through the collection of pledge badges. This reinforces the importance of personal growth alongside academic success.

The pledges are supported by our PSHE curriculum, extensive extra-curricular programme, careers education, leadership opportunities and external partnerships, ensuring learning extends beyond school and into the wider world.
