Assistant Headteacher - Deputy Director of Progress - Head of Expressive Arts & PE

After completing my degree and securing QTS status at Marjon’s, I taught in London for close to 10 years. However, as a former student of John Kitto, the prospect of returning to All Saints was an amazing opportunity to serve and give back to the surrounding community that I was once a part of. 

All Saints is on an upward curve of improvement and, with children at a local primary school, I would have no hesitation in applying for them to join the school. Our students are developing daily, becoming more confident and delivering on the mantra of “Work Hard, Be Kind!”

I am privileged, as part of my role as Head of Expressive Arts and PE, to be able to support students' physical, social and moral development, whether in PE or PSHE lessons, through extracurricular clubs or sporting opportunities. 

The school and Ted Wragg Trust have given me the opportunity to develop professionally, by providing or funding high-quality courses and meeting experienced leaders both inside and outside of the Trust. I have also led on the PE Subject network, where resources are shared to cutdown on workload and improve fantastic outcomes for our schools across Devon.
 

Dr Jackie Barry

Teacher of English and EAL Lead

Literature is my love but teaching is my passion. After completing my teacher training at Marjon’s, I began teaching secondary English in Plymouth. Driven by my motivation to understand how to best use my precious time with students, I then completed a masters, became a chair of governors in a local trust, lectured at the University of Plymouth and earned a PhD in education. With these experiences in hand and a desire to return to the classroom, I was overjoyed at the opportunity to join the English department at All Saints. 

Here, the values of love, legacy and bravery permeate all that we do. In my first year alone, I had the wonderfully rewarding opportunity to lead a year seven tutor group, teach an engaging curriculum and even go on a trip to Paris! 

At the heart of what we do is in ensuring the best outcomes for our students.  As such, professional learning opportunities are numerous. At All Saints, CPD is meaningful, supportive and helps to ensure that our classroom practice includes the most successful teaching strategies. In the Ted Wragg trust, TedFest fosters collaboration with experts within the trust and with its external partners across the South West. 

Excitingly, this year my role has expanded to include EAL lead and mentor to training teachers, and I am looking forward to beginning an NPQ in leadership.

Bella Graham

Teacher of Humanities and Advocate to Young Carers

After completing my degree at Plymouth University, I began a career in data. However, I soon realised that I was looking for a role that felt more meaningful and fulfilling. The opportunity to join the Attendance Team at All Saints became my gateway into education, and it was there that I discovered my passion for supporting young people to flourish both personally and academically.

All Saints recognised and encouraged this passion, supporting me to complete my teacher training through the school-based route and achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This pathway allowed me to immerse myself in classroom practice while learning from a number of experienced and inspiring colleagues. Throughout my journey, I have felt wholeheartedly supported by the staff team, knowing there is always guidance, encouragement and a genuine sense of care whenever it is needed.

I now work within the Global Department as a Humanities Teacher, alongside my role as a Young Carers Advocate within the safeguarding team. These opportunities have enabled me to grow not only as a teacher, but also as a pastoral leader, ensuring that students feel valued, supported and empowered to achieve their potential. Being able to show love through the care and support we provide for our young people is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.

The school has provided me with a wealth of opportunities for professional development and career progression, allowing me to build a legacy of positive impact for the students and the families we serve. I feel privileged to be part of a community that lives out its values every day and is committed to both staff development and student success.
