This area is dedicated to our new Year 7s starting in September and their Parents/carers. It has been designed to share all of the brilliant things we have on offer here at All Saints Academy and give an idea of our routines and expectations. Year 6 Induction
Year 6 students will be given the opportunity to visit All Saints throughout the summer term with several exciting cross-curricular events taking place in connection with our primary school feeders. We take great pride in ensuring our transition process is robust and gives all students the best possible chance of success here at All Saints Academy.
We are delighted to welcome Parents/Carers to our transition coffee mornings onsite at Burrington Community Hub, 9.30 to 11am, to discuss any queries or worries you might have about your child starting secondary school.

All students who were allocated a place are then invited to join us for a transition day in July 2026, where they will take part in a wide range of fun activities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Year 7 Tutor Induction (September)
We have an extended transition period for all year 7s in September, where tutors, the pastoral team and the SEND department spend time getting to know our students. Year 7 have a full day to settle in without any other year groups in school. At All Saints, we really want students to feel confident, happy and settled from their first day. This extended transition period gives students the opportunity to get to know their way around, become familiar with the cashless system in the canteen and to meet key staff members. Parents also value having staff on hand to meet and greet at the start and end of the day to ask those initial questions and to develop close links between home and school.

Year 7 Passport This will be one of our activities students will be given in September as part of their induction process.
Year 7 Tutor Reading programme
Year 7 students partake every day in the Lexia programme to support their reading and literacy skills. Lexia – Lexia is software programme which enables students to master essential reading and literacy skills. By harnessing the power of technology, through Lexia, students can access a personalised and unique literacy programme.
Year 7 Parent information evening September 2026
At All Saints we appreciate how many changes there are from Primary to Secondary school and as Parents/Carers there are usually many questions you are often left wondering about as everything is new!
During this evening various staff will be available from faculties to support with pastoral queries, subject specific questions, logging into apps and general questions. The SEND team are also on hand to offer support and advice however please be advised that this area can be really busy so they will endeavour to answer as many questions as possible.
This meeting will be on Wednesday 1st July 2026 and further information will be sent in due course with the timings. Students are also welcome to attend however this is not mandatory.
Year 7 – SPARX Maths & Science
- Sparx is an online learning platform that creates personalised Maths and Science homework for students tailored to the topics currently being taught in the lessons.
